HISTORY

LEPC 13, Grand Isle County was adopted in the Spring of 2003.
Grand Isle County has been meeting as a mutual aid association since 1997
and formally became it's own LEPC in May 2007.

We are currently working with the Red Cross to adopt a CERT training program within Grand Isle County.

In 2006, the first Grand Isle County C.E.R.T was formed
Dick & Kay Trudell, Iylo McCray, Tom LaBombard, & Alison Rogers.

October 2007 Basic Preparedness Training brought in 5 more members:
Mike Gadue, Carl Sourdiff, Tim Kelly, Keith & Vanetta Darby

May 2008 Training gave us 3 more members:
Chuck Besterman, Jodi Verba, Kelly Barton

To date, we have 12 members, 1 resigned.

Our goals is to have at least 20 members.

We offer the Basic Preparedness presentations to interested residents.

Ongoing training is available and encouraged

Training includes disaster preparedness, medical operations, fire suppression, disaster psychology, shelter management, damage assessment and an overview of the Incident Command System.
CERT volunteers act as second responders to all local emergency services
